Busy = Temperful Parents

Hi folks,

Last few weekends are hectic days for my family...never-ending events to attend to...

KY had rehearsals for her pioneer performance. When it finally concluded last Sat nite, Sunday we had people coming over to our place for swimming, followed with visiting my sister who have just give birth(Congrats jie). When we finally reach home at nite...we are all tired ...battery flat...except for my energetic Shone who managed to recharge his battery over at my sister's place.

So when all of us were sleeping, at about 10.20pm, suddenly i woke up and found Shone missing....and guess what I heard? The water dripping sound from the bathroom...oh no...my dear Shone been love playing water in the bathroom lately...so without any question asked i grab him out of the bathroom and had wanted to give him a piece of mind..then only realised that he actually wanted to wash his bottom with the water as what we normally does(not using wet wipes for cleaning poo poo since he was a baby).

How guilty I felt then, he must have failed waking me up to clean for him...so I apologetically said sorry to him and quickly wash his bottom for him.

Busy = Temperful Parents

I must remind myself not to blow up in ANY CASE especially not before hearing them out!

Hope a better weekdays for all ..

Stay sane and loving despite being "hectic" mode!

Cheers!

Mom punishes daughter by parading her naked in public

Hi folks,

This is so sad..

Read how a Mom punishes daughter by parading her naked in public http://www.dailychilli.com/news/4580-mom-punishes-girl-to-parade-naked-on-the-streets.

I think there really need more parenting support group..these days parents are under too much pressure? Temper go overboard can really spell trouble.

I must admit I also can get carried away when I got mad.....but not to that extend of humiliating my child i hope..

This article serve as a reminder to us parents...I felt...to really juggle our daily task well, not to be overwhelmed and suffer burn-out cos at the end the one who suffer might be our kids and not us alone...

Time to ponder...

Happy Dragon Boat(Dumpling) Festival

Hi folks!

Happy Dragon Boat(Dumpling) Festival to u all....
(Note: For those who like to know about this festival celebrated by Chinese around the globe, you may like to check out this site here)

Have you taken any dumplings?
Dumpling or tzung tzu is the most popular dish during Dragon Boat Festival is originally eaten in memory of the patriot Chu Yuan, but gradually evolving into a snack eaten during normal occasions as well.
(extracted from the site here)

These days there are a lot of halal(no pork) and even organic dumplings made of organic brown rice (last year it cost MYR5 per pc), I am not sure about this year though. But one thing for certain, as I heard over the radio saying that the shortage of porks have cause the price to increase MYR2 and some sellers have considered to kill the younger pigs(less than the usual 80gm, correct me if I am wrong about this figure) just to fulfil the market needs.

Now, hearing this news, would you make your smart choices by opting for vegetarian or organic dumplings(meatless?) Do your part if you feel sorry for the pigs(or chicken in any case, they might just replace with other meats, which still comes from animal sources).

Here's a pic. of my vegetarian dumpling(half-eaten :P hehe). Basically it has all the normal ingredients used in a typical traditional dumplings minus the meat...and some used "mock meat" made from soya-based protein product.

Now..this is something green to do as well in celebrating the special day.....try the vegetarian one for a change..or even an organic ones ;) And oh yes, when you eat dumpling(typically made from glutinuous rice which is harder to digest than normal rice, take it with green tea or any tea for that matter to help in digestion, that's the old folks practice passed down from my family :D)

Happy Dumpling Festival again...and may the "loyalty" spirit  of patriot Chu Yuan brush upon us too!

Cheers!

Lunar n Eng. Birthday

Both date concides today ;)

Hope it means a double lucky year for me ;)

Cheers!

Sent from my iPhone

Happy Birth-day...

Hi folks,

To those who are celebrating their birthday today….Happy Birthday to u all and also to me J

Today marks my 30th birthday….which I hope brings more cheers, laughter and good health to perform my responsibilities and "mission" in life.

I often marveled and wonder how it would be being in the thirties.

I love the air of confidence, financial security and the wisdom that women in thirties seem to possess. I know these do not come with the mere blow of 3 candles on the cake..it takes life experiences and choices they made.

I hope I shall also experience and make the right choices in life at 30, fully taking part in the adventures given.

Let us be "Reborn" each day, cherish and celebrate each day of our life.

Live as if it is the last day or if not..imagine 2012 prediction might actually comes true. Set our priorities right for the importance "balls" in our life! Live the life you would be "proud" to have..Be "SPECTACULAR" (in Godly nature's way)..
Celebrate your new self with new vision and strength to make a better and fruitful day each day..

Cheers to all!

I LOVE U Contest by Little Kids Photography & Little Mama’s LOVE Baby Boutique

Hi folks!

One of my favourite WAHM guru/mama has taken a BIG STEP in realising her WAHM dream!!

Kak Ros from LittleMamaDiary, (who is also the blog owner of a big community at  Mom Bloggers Planet) as she is fondly called by us(mommy bloggers/WAHM wannabes which includes daddys..or guys) has set up two new ventures:

And to commerate this event, she has organised a contest called:

One of the MUST do steps for this contest are:

1. Name one of the photography package by Little Kids Photography

One of the particularly package that I found in Little Kids Photography is the HAPPY MOMENTS -New Arrival Package which I think is one that I really feel is nice and meaningful as it captures the first moment of love with our child.

Hint: To get to know the packages, go to this site.

2. Name one of the item on sale at Little Mama's LOVE Baby Boutique
Ah, This is not too difficult as I have been browsing and eyeing for some items ever since Kak Ros launches her site :P. One of the item on sale which caught my eyes is Little Kids Apron as I have been trying to get Shone one kids' apron so that he doesn't fight with his sister :P over the PHD apron I received previously.

Little Kids Apron

3. What's interesting about Little Kids Photography and Little Mama's LOVE?"

Little Kids Photography and Little Mama's LOVE are interesting as it is a labour of love from a mom and it is of good quality as well! And I believe we should all support the labour of love from mom to their kids! Furthermore, it is awesomely good!

So guys, if you all like to join this contest as well, head over to LittleMamaDiary site now and check out the yummy prizes offered!

By the way, I am vying to get the early bird prizes :P hehe..plus I love to support the labor of love from a WAHM enthusiast!

STPM Review on Mamapatch Cloth Pad

Hi folks!
Haha..wat does STPM means here? Nope, not the Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (the equivalent of Cambridge A-Levels Exam Certification in Malaysia).
It simply means:
S- Second
T- Time
P- Parenthood
M- Molly/Mommy
So in future, I shall use "STPM" as the short form.
So today, it will be STPM Review on Mamapatch Cloth Pad entry ;)
I have been using Mamapatch Cloth Pad (menstrual pad) for 3 cycle now. And I must say it makes a difference on the flow. I usually have very heavy flow from 1st nite till the 3rd day. And normally I get really tired and at times painful cramp on my 2nd day. But after switching to cloth pad, my flow reduced (not that heavy) and I hardly notice that I am having my period.
I used to spend up to 16 pads (disposable heavy flow wing type) per cycle. And now after mix using cloth pad (during day time I am still mix-using disposable at work), I only use up to 3-4 pads per cycle.
I must say it really does well on my well-being and my pockets ($$).
Now, I must say speaking to particularly on Mamapatch Cloth Pad, I must say I love using their new "Premium fleece" Cloth pad. During their last anniversary sales, I managed to order one Premium fleece regular 9" as well as stock up on their Regular Pads and Night 13Maxi to try out.
Here's what I found (which I hope would be useful for those of you who are new to cloth pad like me and like to decide on which type to invest ;)…this is purely on my own personal review on Mamapatch, I have not venture out to other brands to try out..Maybe other more experienced cloth pad user can share more with me regarding this product :D ):
Premium fleece

(Picture taken from Mamapatch.com)
I love the fact that this type of pad:
1.       Absorbs really well
2.       Light-weight compared to the regular type
3.       Faster to dry & easier to wash the stain away
4.       Feel more comfy to wear compared to the regular type
5.       More Pricey
Verdict: Planning to get the maxi type for this Fleece pad.
Regular Pads

(Picture taken from Mamapatch.com)
1.       Price more affordable
2.       Good to use on not-so-heavy flows day
Verdict: I own two of this type which should be good enough for one cycle when mix and match with fleece type which is easier wash and faster to dry.
Night 13Maxi

(Picture taken from Mamapatch.com)
1.       Good to wear during heavy flow nite time
2.       Not so suitable to wear on type-fitting wear during daytime as it seems bulky
Verdict: I own one of this, might get another one for night wear or the fleece type.
Overall, I feel I need to get just 1-2 fleece (maxi) and one wetbag to go fully-clothpad. Now that I feel comfortable of wearing it day and nite( Experimented during the weekend  when I was not working). Another thing to note is I would prefer to get those not so dark in colours(es. not red) so that I know I have fully wash the stain away :P As the red one I got makes me wondering if I have thoroughly clean the pad :P hehe..another tips for u all :) cloth pad newbies like me!
So when is the next sales on cloth pad..haha..if you guys know any good deals, do share with me!
And don't hesitate to try the cloth pad, u'll be amazed!
Plus, I feel going green can start simply from less usage of one plastic bag, one disposable and one disposable container. It can start from a single step and single less use of that harmful material. Start from a single step. We can do our bit for the earth and to our health. So no harm trying out the product :)
Cheers to a healthier living and healthier planet!

My Personal Review on Eco Laundry Ball

Hi folks!

After receiving the eco-friendly laundry ball and reading reviews by MieVee, I started using it. I have since experimented with it for a total of 7 loads ranging from white only, colored clothing.

And to test it fully according to my laundry needs, I immediately tested it with my usual full load instead of with only a few pieces of clothing.

Results are really amazing!

1.       There aren't any left-over washing powder smell

2.       No scented softener smell yet smelled really fresh and clean

3.       When I overslept and forgot to collect the laundry out immediately to dry, there isn't any stinky odor which I often had when I wash with the normal washing powder and again forgot to remove and transfer to laundry basket immediately (and left it for like more than 3 hrs)

4.       Mathematics calculation tells me that laundry ball worth paying for!

Usual expenditure on cost of purchasing:

 Softener = MYR9.60

 Washing powder/detergent = MYR23

One month expenditure = MYR 32.60

Laundry Ball cost = MYR198

·         last for 1000 wash, average 1 wash a day - approximately 3 years

·         If use detergent+Softener, 3 yrs cost= MYR32.60X36= MYR1173.60

·         Total $ saved = MYR975.60 (WOW!!)

I must say I have not been using my usual washing liquid or powder ever since I got the laundry ball!

Love it to bits. Even DH responded well to it and suggested to his colleague.

One thing I have not tried yet is use it on my heavier washing, i.e. bedsheets , curtains, cushion covers. And I have not try out the stain remove that comes with it!

But I must,  I am totally won over by it now!

Not only it is environmentally-friendly but cost effective as well.

I used to be very skeptical about it (like some of you who might be reading it now) 3 years ago, but now I will not hesitate to get it!

So if you all (who are reading this) and are tempted to buy, I just saw some good deals for cloth-diapering mommies!!!

At Sin Dee Nice Cloth Diaper shop (http://www.niceclothdiaper.com/eco-laundry-system/eco-laundry-ball.php) , they are having promotion for Eco Laundry Ball!!

Eco Laundry Ball  环保神奇魔力洗衣球  FREE 3 sets NCD Minky Diapers!

That looks like a Great deal for me!! Need to check with DH if we should grab one more set as backup-stock, well since my sets can last me for another 2-3 years(haha)…..have to get DH nod if I am going get one more set for future (year 2013!!) use? :P

Anyway, do grab it folks and try it for yourself!

For more details on the direction on usage and its benefits, just go to any sites or type eco laundry ball! Or simply go to MieVee's page here or the co. who sponsored the eco laundry ball(prize I won) here.

Happy being an eco-friendly-citizen of our Earth/Planet!

Cheers!

Haste = Waste

Hi folks,

I used to post this label in a notepad in my drawer while I was in college:

Haste = Waste

Yup, how many of you agree with this statement?

Need more examples/ scenario to understand this statement?

Allrite, let's use my case studies as investigation.

In my case, waste here can be in terms of money, time or relationship (go sour). In general, it means "not worth it"!

Case 1:

Technology advancement supposed to help us to speed up our work and most of a time at a cost.

Think washing machine, computers, thermal pot, vacuum cleaner, hair-dryer and the list goes on.

But when we are in such a hasty mode, we ended up wasting more time and money. Especially for people like me who is often on multi-tasking mode.

There were times whereby I on the fire mode on my gas to the maximum while cooking soup with my thermal pot as it only needed to heat up the special element at the bottom of the pot for 20-30 minutes.

Blast…I went on to do other stuff or entertain my kids and phew..forgot to switch off :P

There goes my soup and not to mention having a black charcoal pot to clean!

Wastage = time (in washing and cooking), money (soup ingredients wasted, gas used for nothing) and relationship (why? How many of you won't get any reprimand from your hubby when such thing happened? In particularly it involve safety. And how many of you won't go sulking 'cos the fact that you are just trying to cook a nice meal and already feel very sorry over the incident and yet got scolded in return..sniff sniff…haha..that was how I felt then!)

Lessons learnt. Never leave my cooking left unattended and left it in a haste to do other stuff, NO MATTER WHAT ABSOLUTE VALID REASON! Switch the gas off before I go and do other stuff even before cooking is done. Better be SAFE than SORRY!

Case 2:

In our haste to submit assignment or thesis before the due date, how many of us left out the critical proof-read step and came back with a poor marks or remarks/feedback on our "completed" work?  Not to mention the "accuracy" of the facts and figures we reported.

If this happened to a medical report, it could be real disaster! We might misinterpret or written wrong diagnosis report on a patient!

Case 3:

In our daily haste in chasing our kids to "Hurry up" as well, we might forget to take time to listen and have fun with our kids.

How many of us are stressed and also put the stress on our young children, whom by the way, being a bit "dilly-dally" is part of their nature. I find it so stressful for myself and the kids when we need to do things in haste. Mood spoilt, and left with cranky and crying kids.

So, try to rearrange our schedule and leave ample time to allow some "slow-moving" act of our kids or even a time to chat, hug or say goodbye and have a good start for the day!

I often find my blood pressure shoot up, my muscle get so tensed up when I am late for work and need to step on the accelerator and start honking at slow-moving car. Wonder how many of my body cells were damaged during the entire "stressful" moment.

I find it easier to just wake up 5-10 mins. earlier than to get stressful over it.

So I like to end my sharing here with a poem I love since my teens:

(It is said that this poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital.)

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You'd better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Do you run through each day

On the fly?

When you ask "How are you?"

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You'd better slow down

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Ever told your child,

We'll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste,

Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time

To call and say "Hi"?

You'd better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,

It is like an unopened gift....

Thrown away.

Life is not a race.

Do take it slower

Hear the music

Before the song is over.

Thanks for reading till the end of my lengthy post :D

Hope it brightens up your day and make us relook at our habitual auto-pilot mode in our daily life!

Cheers!
