How many life-endangering moments we must meet before we come to our senses?

Hi folks!

Today is the second day back to work(again..yep...after taking/clearing leave for another week) after recuperate.

Though it seems a bit wasteful to spent my leave to sleep at home (usually at this time of the year, I would take leave to spent time with the kids doing stuff since it's school holiday!). But what to do, we all have to do what's the needed most at the right time, don't we? At this moment, what I truly need is rest and recuperate. And of course get well real soon so that I could function well as a mom and as a wife.

I have not have much energy to carry my kids, walked very long with them, bring them to playground, chat with hubby (running out of breath) or worked very long at work without getting backache. That is what I have experienced when I went back to work earlier. But as my hospitalisation leave is over and there is work waiting at workplace, duedate to meet, I had to go back and also to try and see if I am "back to normal". True to behold, I AM NOT. And when i went online, two friends who had dengue before told me it'll take a month to really recover back. No wonder i am feeling giddy, cold and having backache.

Anyway, after clearing urgent work and God Bless, my manager is back in office the subsequent Monday, I took one week off just to rest and also take time to visit the western doctor and Traditional Chinese Doctor. I took another bloodtest at my panel doctor to confirm the platelet has back to normal (226); normal reading would be between 150-450. When I asked the western doctor why I am feeling giddy? He took my blood pressure and said my blood pressure was low. And when I told him of my backache, he gave me muscle relaxing pill and painkiller.

So after 2 days, not feeling recovered, at the advice of many friends, I went to see a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medical practitioner) at USJ. I heeded his advice and took 5 (supposed to be 6 but one dose I accidentally turned it to charcoal when it got burnt :P) of chinese herbs that needs to brew ourselves, from 7 rice bowls of water till left 1 bowl which takes around 1 1/2 hr.

I felt much better today but cannot help worrying that one more bowl which I wasted.. :P gotta call him to check also about taking white radish soup which my mom told me to be good for cleansing blood...as I heard if you are taking chinese medicine, you cannot take certain food and white radish is one of them.

Anyway this post is supposed to be about life-endangering moments. If I exclude the two c-section, this would be my second life-endangering moments. The first one being a car accident(whereby my Kancil was overturned twice in 2002 or 2003). I am indeed lucky to be still alive and blogging right now.

But, I hope and I am reminding myself here, to really live my life well and not to let this event gone off my mind and lead(again) a meaningless rushy hour daily life...and lead a life full of regrets....

Cos how many "reminders"/"warning signals" we want God to send us before we can come to our senses? And how many can we endure SAFELY?

So seriously have to reprioritise our life and lead a meaningful life to serve our life purpose and mission! Be Grateful at all times and smell the fresh air, feel the sweatness of plain, clean water and stretch our arms and take in a deep breath; exercise and move our body. Live a healthy and purposeful life!

Cheers!
(Stay tuned on my coming post soon on what I did or rather ppl around me did to make the platelet climbs back...surviving dengue...)

Recuperate Act : Chinese Medicine

Hi folks! If you watched those kungfu or ancient Chinese drama, you might have seen them brewing some Chinese medicine over the charcoal. Today I am brewing this too. Apparently I have been having terrible backache and heaty spell & went to seek advice from both western & Chinese TCM. My organs all all "burning" & weak.. Gee had to stop all those "heaty" soup(do u know red dates & tong sum are heaty? Now I knew..).now my backache felt better..and when u need to take bitter medicine try get those sweet/sour plums.. Easier for swallowing the concoction ;)

Recuperate Act: Red Dates drink

Hi folks! Usually Chinese would take this drink for confinement. Due to bleeding I had during dengue battle, I had to make this drink to replenish the blood supply.. I bought this pre-packed from Chinese medical store for RM25 per pkt. It has red dates, dried longan, black dates, Bei qi, tongsum & wolfberries. Good to rebuild blood & qi.

Back to Work day!

Hi folks!

Today is back to work for me....after 2-week  battle with dengue fever and then recuperation.

Already there are urgent things to be settled at work. Due date is tomorrow.

How's life back at work? It was good...to be back with good, genuinely-concerned friends..

But, am taking things slowly step-by-step as I still feel my qi not 100% back.

Feet gets cold easily and i do pant when i talked too much...

It takes time...to rebuild the qi and stamina..

Time to make some crockpot soup again...

Till then...take care folks and enjoy being alive!

Cheers!

Recuperate- Day 6

Hi folks!

I have stayed 6 days in hospital and another 6 days recuperating@ home for dengue.... Tomorrow has to be back in office.

I have been diligently taking the cactus juice, ginseng powder and fruits to rebuild the energy, qi and strength.

I have not been able to talk too long or raise my voice at the kids(lucky for them? Not really cos when words didn't make it, has to use spanking and I hated it) ...been trying to get DH help to discipline the kids like when they spent long hrs "brushing teeth" in the bathroom etc... Simply no strength to keep asking them to get out of the room and water play...phew...

Today would be the last day resting@home. Thankful for the chance to rest. Till Dec when I try to take some time off...when bbsitter goes on leave for school holidays. ..

It's back to work tomorrow...it's time to pick up what's pending..

It feels good to eat well and rest well..if we could all eat healthily not only when we are sick..and rest enough to recharge daily... Our body will thank us for it! And function better too :)

I hope I would still take time to sync with my body after this..listen well and work as a team with our body :)

Cheers and have a healthy day!

Recuperate- Day 5

Hi folks!

How long it takes to fully-recover from dengue fever?

I first had the symptoms (fever, diarrhea, giddiness/feel like vomitting) on 2nd Nov evening. After two-day, doc did a blood test for me. Results shows my platelet 113/150 & white blood cells also went down. Admitted to hospital on 5th Nov @ the platelet just went down each day@scary rate: 113,78,48,37,....

Dr. said it was normal, some ppl went down to single digit before it came up again.

The Korean young lady who shared the same room as I did discharged after 9 days of dengue fever. I calculated & pinned for the day I could recover @ I did after staying for 6 days, on the 8th day of my dengue fever...@87 platelet...but then my rashes came. I tried my best not to scratch... Now after 12days of dengue, the rashes still there..but not so itchy anymore...

So all in all, it takes 2 weeks to endure ... So pls... Dear construction sector n everyone.. Play our part & don't let another person becomes dengue fever victim ... It's no joke at all.. Try vomitting for a week...

Take care all. Clear those waters, don't let it be mozzy breeding ground!!!

Recuperate- Day 3

Hi folks!

Thanks for all your good wishes! I got better each day. I spent the whole morning (4am-11.30am) to finish up a 585pgs(divide by 2) of Bilingual Biography I have been waiting for more than 18 yrs for the translated version to come...not to brag...but just amazed, happy and glad that I still have the drive and energy for marathon reading just like when I was young...when we got hold of a nice book and hard to let go...so record it down here for encouragement for more reading adventures to come...

I have not done much reading ever since I am with kids.. I mean serious, intense reading....

Am glad the reading makes me felt rejuvenated, cleansed and much inspired. Meeting up a faraway friend for the first time with story-like encounters and experiences to share during last night dinner time is indeed another highlights for me.

I am enjoying and truly thankful for the recuperation days given Doc! Recharging..

On physical note wise I know I am still not up to it...stamina still lacking. Can't sit, talk too long or overeats...moderation is the key here..

Have a lovely day folks! Today I will see my boy again after 1 week away from me...

Recuperate- Day 2

Hi folks!
Ironically my appetite did returned yesterday however that brings another string of emotional-high turbulence..

As I waited DH lunchtime to arrive, I was already very hungry. Ate a big apple, made a cup of Milo, scoop a big spoonful of steamed chocolate cake made by my talented neighbor. Still waiting....

When 12noon reaches, DH didn't call to check what I like to have for lunch.. So I called him..Tadahh...he's already eating outside with his colleague..and I still ask are u buying me lunch later? Obviously never came across his mind..yea.. To him a discharged wife is one who are capable to of not only take care of the family but herself too disregard I am discharged to recuperate.. Disregard I am sent home with a still low platelet of 87.

I feel utterly Disappointed!!!!! I asked," so u got no intention to pack me anything?!!" and I did what I don't usually do... I Slammmed his call. I slammed the doors.. And wanted to cry cry hard but still too weak to cry...no.. I must not agitate myself.. I must recover fast cos my son is still being taken care of by my equally not so well dad( suffering from diarrhea)

I bombarded my FB walls with lotsa emotions n sadness..while growling in hunger until my sis came to my rescue..

Lessons learnt.. Which I should have learnt it long time now..never expect a guy to be sensitive enough to know what u want.. They are simply clueless and hopeless at this dept.
