Below are some pictures of Shone(DOB: 20 June 2009) with his bottle:
I shall update KY's bottle picture shall I find it...hehe seems that I rarely capture her bottle drinking gimmicks. And yes by now(at age 3) I think slowly, we would need to weaned her off bottle and transit to cup...
Here's a picture of them(sorry a bit blur as I took at night with no flash light on) having their milk at night together..their favourite time together and guess who won the milk-drinking competition? It is Shone!! haha..
When we first scouting for bottle for my first child, we have Dr.Brown in mind, but then later on my DH stumbled upon another brand called Bfree(which is at the time very few BPA-free bottle in the market then). We specifically looked for special bottle for our child then due to colic.
That was when I first came across the word BPA-free.
Then, when I am pregnant with my second child, Shone, Bfree bottle happened to be out of stock..then I stumbled upon another brand called MAM which is also BPA-free. I kind of like the design which allows the bottom to be unscrewed and clean. So I got that for my second one and it's been GREAT so far!
When we talk about how to safely feed our baby using a BOTTLE, I feel that we should watch them even as they started to be able to hold and feed on their own. Plus, we are told or read somewhere that we should never let the kids drink the bottle to sleep or have their juice in bottle to avoid tooth decay. So I actually have another special juice bottle(yes by Nuby and it is also BPA free) for my son, Shone who loves juices!
Another tips I like to share with parents out there, when you first get your sets of milk bottles, do remember to get the extra teats as backup. If your bottle has different flow speed (like MAM has 1,2,3 speed for different flow and baby's age, get them as well to avoid the hassle of ordering or scouting for one later).
For my two kids, they prefer fast flow in the second month as they are so used to the fast flow during breastfeeding when we have "letdown reflex" as most women tend to have more milk supply during the confinement maybe because of the nutritious food and drinks we have and the good rest?
So folks what do you think about bottles and what bottle safety measures you practices for your child? Care to share? Hear from you all too! And if you wanna win some cool prizes from AliceWonders and PhotoBookMalaysia, don't forget to send your entry for the contest by MomBloggersPlanet!
Cheers!
