The start of Fasting Month

Hi folks,
To all my Muslim friends, today is the first day of Ramadan(the ninth month of the Islamic calendar) and the first day of fasting month.
It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking and sexual activities from dawn until sunset. Fasting is intended to teach Muslims about patience, humility and spirituality and is a time for Muslims to fast for the sake of God (Arabic: الله‎, trans: Allah) and to offer more prayer than usual. During Ramadan, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.
I personally feel that fasting is a good way to train ourselves to become tougher physically and mentally. Imagine if there's any event happened that requires us to abstain for food and drink for a period of time. Those who have been trained to fast, I believe would be able to cope better to such situation. Besides the goodness it has on our health(detox) if done properly.
And, I also like the way that it is a month to ask for forgiveness for past mistakes. A good chance to reflect, forgive and forget.
So hereby, I like to seek the forgiveness not only from my Muslim friends, but for any soul and beings which I have offended one way or another. (By the way, today is the second day of Ghost Month for Chinese.)
Cheers to a month of reflection and betterment!
