Amendments to the Road Transport Act to be enforced on Feb 1

Hi folks,

Just came across this news in TheStarOnline  that with the enforcement of the Road Transport Act on coming Feb 1, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will have the power to take action against traffic offenders on all roads(including  farms, gardens, villages and residential areas; even car parks and sidewalks) in the country once amendments to the Road Transport Act 1987 are  implemented.

This reminds me of a carpark accident I witnessed in a shopping mall whereby a car was badly hit by another car coming from another direction even though yeah we are supposed to go slow in a carpark. But I asked hubby then, what happened when such thing happened in a shopping mall? How to claim insurance or which road law to follow? Who would be the law enforcer/judge for such incident? Rightfully then, the signs on the shopping mall should be the "law" / "rules" to follow. Whoever to give a way from that direction should watch for those car coming from the other direction...

Back to the Road Transport Act, amendments to the Act also required vehicle owners who changed their address to give two-weeks notice to the JPJ, failing which, legal action could be take against them, including a fine of up to RM300.

Now, if I update to my MyKad to my recent address, will it update to JPJ as well?

Cheers and hope to hear from you all if you have any input on this :)
