Reliving the love for Marvel's Spider-Man

Hi folks!

Which are the Marvel character you are most fond of or remember most now which your kids would most probably recognize as well if not a big FAN too? Oh yes, for mine is definitely Peter Parker, the Marvel's Spiderman!

Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can...... (yes, now can you recall that catchy tune!)...

Now, good news for Spiderman's fan,he brand-new Marvel's Spider-Man animated series is set to premiere on Disney XD (Astro Channel 617) on October 14, Saturday, and available On Demand.

Peter Parker is a normal teenage boy who lives in Queens, New York with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben. He is a shy boy, but highly intelligent and excels in science at his school, Horizon High.

With the principal and found of Horizon High, Max Modell

No doubt this series will be a hit with my children as they certainly can relate better to this new series whereby the famous wall crawling superhero is a 15-year old schoolboy called Peter Parker.

In this series, Disney XD brings Spider-Man closer to audiences in a series of comedic videos featuring Malaysian kids who imagine a world with their friendly neighborhood superhero.

In the series, after the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter devotes his life to honor his wise adage - “with great power comes great responsibility”...i love this quote and it is apt and great lessons for kids. Using his newfound abilities, he becomes Spider-Man by night, and vows to protect his family and friends from danger.

The series is filled with action, drama, humor and heart going back to the basic elements that we older fans would enjoy as Peter Parker gets schooled in the art of becoming the hero that audiences know and love as Marvel's Spider-Man.

From 1 October, fans can tune in to Disney XD and Disney Channel to enjoy the fun videos. It will also be available on Disney Channel Asia’s social media platforms (YouTube: YouTube.com/Disney Channel Asia; Facebook: Facebook.com/Disney Channel Asia).

Now, here is my little Marvel's Spider-Man fan, getting all ready to use their superhero power to accomplish their great responsibility! Now, are you getting excited to check out this new series too? Don't forget to tune in Disney XD Astro Channel 617 on 14 October folks!

Hope you have a spidey and spectacular weekend!

Making the switch

Hi folks!

I just can’t help falling in love with Thieves collection..

The first one I have fallen in love with is the Thieves essential oil which gives our immune system the extra boost, added to manuka honey, it just soothe my sore throat and ulcers.

Next, thanks to my friend who recommended the Thieves Household Cleaner. The first time I used it to mop the floor on CNY eve before my “balik kampung” a.k.a. back-to-hometown trip, 4 days later when i returned home, I am being welcome with the nice lemon and thieves smell once I opened the door..what a pleasant surprise and love at first “scent” for me

Subsequently, I went on to try the following Thieves series each month as I redeem them with my points:
  • Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier- great for travels with kids especially!), Thieves spray(my frequent aid-on-the-go)
  • Thieves Laundry Soap- yey no more chemical smell on the clothes and bedsheet!
  • Thieves Dental floss- my daughter’s recent addition to her dental care regime)
  • Thieves Cleansing soap- it helps with my skin rashes and more economical for savvy momma,
  • Thieves Dish Soap - friendly on my hands, I can finally wash my dishes without wearing gloves and safe for kids to help out too!
and last but not least...the latest addition to My Thieves Try-out collection .......is

Thieves Fruit and Veggie Spray- great for My On-the-go kitchen. Now I don’t have to worry when I am cooking and eating out without my Fruits and Vege cleaner

What’s more the best thing is, I got these for FREE!

How? ‘Cos YL rewards their members with generous PV points rebate(10%, 20% and 25%!) on top of their purchase of YL products at wholesale price. This is certainly another great incentives and great way to ditch the chemical laden products in my family and opt for a more friendly version

Chemicals and Choices We make

Hi folks!

When I read about the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 in California requires that the Governor revise and republish at least once per year the list of chemicals known to the State to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity.

Seriously, if we wonder how these days people are not as healthy as before despite the advancement in medical and healthcare. Does anyone realised how many types of chemicals we are exposing ourselves daily from the day we wake up, brush our teeth, clean our face, shower and drinking and eating from plastic made of BPA material, etc.

Check out our household products, skincare or even processed/junk food we have at home whether they appear in this Proposition 65 list of chemicals.

Time to take a close look and ditch the chemical that is adding the burden into our body detox system. Try to use glassware and not to reuse or even reheat the food in plastic containers. Reduce the dependent on canned and processed food and go for whole food as much as possible. Note: It's also a reminder to myself...how we can balance between health over convenience sake! Make the right choice!

Go now, take out the common toothpaste,  containers, or skincare and check on the list. How many can you identify:

https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov/chemicals

Sadly, many medicines are also listed in the list.

Now can we do ourselves a favour by ditching the chemicals in our daily life and stay clean as much as we can to reduce the burden we are adding on to our body detox system?

I have since changed to use glassware more than plastic containers. It is cheaper in the long run 🏃

Also, I have switched to chemical free toothpaste, skincare, laundry soap, washing detergents and trying to avoid the convenience products like canned and processed food.

Still got a lot to work on I must say as our family members are so used to all these food and products. But as a mom we must make the right choice for our family! Hopefully we are able to include more of the good and none of the bad starting from our home 🏠

Cheers and have a chemical free life!

Burning midnight oil and Crunching Numbers

Hi folks!

Recently I have to take a financial test which comes with lotsa mind-boggling calculations...

Honestly, I am not one who's very good with numbers and figures; and facing numbers too long makes me giddy and headache at times 😅

I spent a lot of wee hours trying to make senses of the figures and formulas. Thus, at the end of the test, I rewarded myself with a pack of coconut water(which easily cost MYR4 a pkt nowadays at the roadside stall!)

During my revision and before my test, I applied the following oils:
1. Cedarwood- as this oil is oxygenating for the brain; brings more clarity of thoughts
2. BrainPower- what's more to say, I needed the extra boost of BrainPower to crunch my numbers! I applied on the big thumb of my toe and inhale it by taking 6 deep breathe (I did the same for my kids during their exam period)
3. Clarity- some ppl call this a "Mathematical" oil as it contains peppermint and rosemary and thus promotes clarity and alertness, awesome oil to have when you need to go through some new learning task at hand 👍

I have passed my test 🙌 Another tick on my bucket list - lifelong learning! I am glad I took up the challenge and now I felt more empathetic towards the challenges that my children might be facing at their study. Hopefully by seeing mommy still working hard to improve her knowledge and skills despite out of school for so long motivates them to work hard at their school work too!

As the Chinese sayings goes, 活到老學到老, Live and learn; Never too late/old to learn...Anyone on this path with me 👋

My next adventure..mastering a musical instrument with my kids perhaps 😄✌️

Thanks 🙏 to these oils that accompanied along the journey!

Cuts and Aid to the rescue

Hi folks!

Sometimes without noticing, we get cuts and wound somewhere..but don't leave it unattended as it might get infected especially if it is an open wound.

When i saw DH's back with an open wound(which he told me he's not sure when and how he got it), I quickly apply Helichrysum(eo which we called it as "invisible seal", you can also apply lavender or Frankinsence eo) and seal it with tender tush.

Give the wound a tender loving care and it will soon be well.

How to have a peaceful moment at morning rush hour

Hi folks!

Lately, my youngest has been rather "challenging" and cranky. He is getting more vocal and independant and having his own mind over his daily routine, from waking up, choosing his own clothes and buttoning up himself to making his own sandwich for school(yes and he's only 4).

If you ever want to give him a hand(out of your rush hour or simply just to avoid the mess).... mind you please seek his permission before even begin your assistance. Otherwise you will most likely experience a longer period of tantrums, uncooperative mode and worst defiant "kids" strike 🤦‍♀️ which will definitely prolong your getting ready-to-go-out time.

So I learnt to pick my "fights" and close one eye over little matters. Also I have restarted my happy 😊 oiling routine for him. Last time when he used to have nightmare or unable to sleep due to teething or maybe some events going round his life during the day time...I would dilute and apply peace and calming on him(if I managed to during his tantrum otherwise I would apply on me as I was carrying him to sleep then).

So these days before waking my "baby boss" up, I will first dilute peace and calming on my palm and apply on his chest and back. Next, is his tummy oil(I would either use Tummygize or diluted Digize) and whichever oil that meant for his comfort for the day. It can be Joy if he is especially cranky, Idaho Balsam Fir if he is having some cough or sniffles, etc.

So far it has been working. I get my magic words without asking.."Thank you mommy for bringing my shoes for me", "Thank you mommy for .this.. and that"...and at good times I get hugs 🤗 and kisses too 😘 phew..🙏❤️

I hope this peaceful departure to school will last as long as it can 😁
