How does chocolate and game link?

Hi folks!

Do you love chocolate? Now who doesn't...unless you are having some kind of allergy for chocolate or for some lactose intolerant....for the milk contained in most chocolates.

How about playing games? Yeah....Facebook games application is mushrooming.....

I used to asked my ex-colleagues(mostly programmers) why do they like to play those games like Farmville etc...(pardon me...I am a klutz at such games application and I also prefer the real farming rather than online-based...hehe). They said, "'Cos it doesn't require thinking or don't have to use our brain."

So in that sense, it is a way to release tension and their mind...

Now, if chocolates and games makes you release tension, you might like to check out this game and win something related to chocolate ;)
Pop it or Drop it! @ChoclairsMalaysia has a FB app. Play around with it and experience #Choclairs Choco Boom!

Good Luck & CHeers!

KY First Day of Music Class

Hi folks,
KY started her first lesson at music school last Sat. She enjoyed tremendously. Let's see if she is keen to continue learning it..then I gotta hunt or shop for a electone keyboard or a piano so that she gets to practice at home.

Any experience on what type to get for a beginner? Should I go straight for piano? I am thinking maybe get a second hand electone for her? Stil thinking...any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Vocab 4: What new words I learn from the blog today?

Hi folks!

Did I ever mentioned or do I even need to mention blog-hopping or blog reading is part of my daily reading ritual as well :D but of course not all bloggers used the standard English, as some do use some native words or short form. But still it's a new word learn.

So what new word I picked up today?

From a blog entry by Hidayah Ismawi, posted at Mombloggersplanet.com:

The only sport at which I was passable at was badminton. Personally, I blame it on poor hand eye co-ordination, which basically is a polite term for being a total klutz.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Klutz[klʌts] may refer to:

  • Most commonly, a clumsy person

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

1. A clumsy person.
2. A stupid person; a dolt.

History: Yiddish klots, from Middle High German kloz, block, lump, from Old High German.
(Source: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/klutz)

This word does sound very German indeed.....so what field are you a Klutz?

For me, it would be dancing. What about you? Do share :)
(By the way, there's nothing wrong being Klutz in some ways, it doesn't mean you are a failure ok...I sign up for 3 month dance classes and master few dancing stunts ;) too...after knowing my weak point!)

Cheers!

Humor in Chinese Character Learning- Part 1

Hi folks,

I am on my learning path to master or rather improve my literacy in Chinese. I can speak Mandarin pretty well as I used to watch Chinese drama series back in my hometown (we are very near to Singapore and their Chinese tv series are quite nice!..ways before we have 8TV or ntv7 which offers better quality Chinese shows).

During my learning adventures, there are bound to be mistakes here and there and some really funny :P

I wish to share with you a conversation I had with my elder sis over the Instant Messaging (IM) system about her new haircut which looks nice...a good makeover!

Molly: 世界上没有臭人,之有蓝人(This world has got no ugly people, only lazy people.)
Sis:     haha 臭人=smelly ppl ( orang busuk) and 蓝人= blue man haha
Molly: sorry. lol
Sis:      but i understand wat u trying to say haha
Molly:  is (chou= ugly) and (lan = lazy) Correct one should be:
             世界上没有,之有...

I always have a hard time discerning which character to use as my vocabulary in Chinese is very limited. There are so many same sound yet different meaning Chinese character :P..haha...and yeah...from here, you can know my elder sister's chinese is far better than mine :P even though we both study in Convent school 'cos she is more diligent in learning her chinese character since young.

I have to catch up soon before KY starts her primary school!

Wish me luck and here's some sharing of laughter and humor in my journey of learning Chinese..hehe..more to share as I tread on the path!

So hereby I like to quote (my own :P)

世界上没有人,之有 ( This world has got no stupid people, only lazy people)

So yes!!! Way to go...diligently brushing up my Chinese here! At the same time...hahahaha..have a belly good laugh over it...:P

Cheers!
