Updates on the 3 little angels

Hi folks!

It's been a long time since I post up any updates on my 3 little angels bestowed by the Creator.

Let's start from the youngest, a.k.a. the Mr. DIY.

ZS
As the age of 2, i would think he's now in the mode of Mr. DIY. He would want to try everything and does everything on his own.
If you ever helped him up over the staircase and slope, etc, he would walk back down and do it by his own.

Everything he wants to do it on his own, i.e. eating, drying himself after a DIY shower/bath, putting on his own clothes, etc. And the fact that
he only turns into what people called the  "Terrible Two" only when he is being denied the freedom and trust to do things on his OWN!
So, I get it and thus only offered him help when he requested and needs one. And this actually helps a lot in both ways. He gets to explore his abilities to do things on his own and
for us, we avoided the meltdown and even get to eat along together rather than taking turns to feed him and eat our meals, etc.

So all in all, we learnt to let him explore "safely".

SE
At the age of 7, he seems to be in the world of routine, discipline and a bit up to mischievous at times and also demands fairness.
He still has not figure out time very well, thus when you tell him to do something at certain time, we need to do it by sequence of
his routine rather than using the clock. For e.g., you need to finish up your breakfast and quickly change into your swimming attire
so that you get to play in the pool before your swimming coach arrives(which is what he adores doing weekly).

He has overcame his fear of water and has been able to swim a full lap which is something I can see him truly enjoyed which also
boost up his confidence in himself. Not giving up after few months like his drum lessons, he persevered in his weekly swimming lessons.

Overall, I felt he is slowly beginning to grow up with his own character and with a very caring heart.

KY
At the age of 9, she's growing up to be a very dependable, considerate and sporting young lady. She is one who i could count on
to take care of her little brother while i do some cooking, etc...willingly and with lots of love and care (and fun too! ZS adores her).

She is very much into ballet, dancing, make-up, hairstyling and also High School Musical cum singing. She's always full of music and always
have a dance routine in her mind. We see that in her when she started shaking her bum bum at 11 months old even before she learned how to walk.

I am very proud of her and really admire her fun-loving and carefree spirit. I hope she continues with her good-loving nature and kind heart.

This is all the short updates on the three little angels/gifts in our family.

Cheers!

We are all here on borrowed time

Hi folks!

Last night we went to pay respect to the demise of an elderly one in my family.

I had this realization that we are all here on a "borrowed" times. When we will be called back by the Creator is indefinite. But one thing for sure we won't be here forever.

Reflection on Appreciation and Repentance

Hi folks!

Yesterday, I dated my two older kids for a movie at the cinema. It was a very nice movie and nice date indeed!

I've learnt a lot of things in the movie and also throughout our dates.

We went to Nu Sentral GSC to watch the movie by LRT. I have wanted to let the kids experience taking LRT.

They learnt to use the self-service ticketing machine as well as how to read the instruction on which platform to get to their station.

It was quite crowded when we get back from the movie and there wasn't any seats.

However, there are two gentlemen who gave their seats to my two kids aged 7 & 9. It was a very heart-warming experience for me.

And I told them when they are older and able to balance themselves better, they should also learn to give their seats to others who needs the seats more as I point out to the signs
to give seats to people with special needs, pregnant women, old age, etc.

And while sharing with them, me, as a mom learnt a precious lesson as well. As my hands are full carrying 3 bags, my daughter without hesitating a moment, offered to carry those bags on her lap as she got a seat.

And the people are her were whispering what a good daughter i had. Indeed! I've realised that i've failed to notice and appreciate these little goodness in them all these while.

Like how she gave her time to "entertain" her little baby brother instead of playing ipad, etc.
How they would often request to get something for their siblings when i was buying something for them.
How they would also asked us if it's ok to get something, or whether it is too expensive.
How my daughter mentioned to her brother one day when he didn't want to wear the daycare uniform, asking him if he's trying to make us spend our money on the uniform in vain by not wanting to wear it.

Wow..little things like this really..touches my heart..especially when i felt at times i have been a little too harsh and a little to "frank" to them about money matters.

I wanted to let them know they could achieve whatever they set their heart and mind too, with hard work. And i also do not wish them to be hindered by things like money, time etc.

And i truly repent and feel bad when I kinda throw my temper and got frustrated when my daughter keeps readjusting or requesting to re-tie her hair. Ballerina has high standards on the way their hair is being tied.

Watch the Dance Parents if you wish to know how high the standard these children set upon themselves.

While parents who do yearn to have girls so that they have the chance to doll them up, tie their hair, etc....here am I having such wonderful daughter, yet not cherishing it to the fullest.

May I learnt my lessons well and not to repeat them.

May I grow to be a better parent to my children, a better spouse and a better person overall to this earth we called home.

Cheers!

Descendants

Hi folks!

How was your weekend?

We spent our weekend at leisure pace at my in-laws’ place. For a long time, I get to accompany my kids watching some of their favourite Disney show.

Talking about Disney show, there’ll be one very good one coming called Descendants. The premieres will be aired on this Sunday 13 September at 11am on Disney Channel (Astro Ch 615).

The storyline again, as with other Disney show is very meaningful. It is a not-to-be-missed show! Very interestingly as the show title- Descendants, it is stories that revolved around the descendants of Disney character that we all very familiar with like Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, etc. So for us adults even, it’s a déjà vu of sort while watching the show definitely!

If you have ever wondered what would happen if Disney's greatest Villains and Princesses had children like me, then you would find some insignts in this show!
In the idyllic kingdom of Auradon, Prince Ben, the benevolent teenaged son of the King and Queen (Beast and Belle from "Beauty and the Beast") is poised to take the throne. His first proclamation: offer a chance at redemption to Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay, the trouble-making offspring of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil and Jafar who have been imprisoned on the forbidden Isle of the Lost for 20 years. These villainous descendants are allowed into Auradon for the first time to attend prep school alongside the teenage progeny of Fairy Godmother, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Mulan. Only time will tell if these evil teens will follow in the footsteps of their wicked parents!

It has very good storyline and moral behind this show, which talks about goodness prevail over evil and that we have this very good part in each and every one of us if only we “LISTEN” to our hearts. In addition, the story also potrays the lesson on about teamwork, self-esteem and self-worth. And I truly felt that it’s a good very show especially for teens at their rebel stage and where most of them at this age are trying to look for their true identity at this rather confuse stage.

Directed by the Emmy Award-winning director and choreographer Kenny Ortega ("High School Musical”, so we can’t expect very much 'High School Musical' –like and great soundtracks which is something both my kids and I really adore.

And do tune in to Disney Channel (Astro Ch 615) this Sunday 13 September at 11am to catch the show! I can’t wait to view it with my kids!

Cheers!

Reflection on Complaints and My Aspirations

Hi folks!

How was your long weekend break from the Merdeka (Malaysia National Day) day?

I had a very fruitful 3-day retreat and I would like to pen down the reflection and aspirations I have made during the retreat which I would like to implement for the rest of my days.

Reflection and Realisation

  1. Full of complains - I found that of late or i can say all these while I have been complaining a lot of people, events and things around me.
  • I complained when I had too much workload when i had to take over my colleague's work when she's away for 90 days maternity. I complained when the management did not manage to find someone to replace her temporary and i was told i couldn't get the other colleague to help due to different team. And guess what this happened in my previous company when I had to replace my boss' load when she's away for few weeks medical leave and i couldn't bear to transfer some load over to a heavily pregnant teammate. And I found the same incident reoccur even when i moved to another company. This must be a lessons I need to learn. I need to learn to appreciate the trust given (and don't waste time complaining or feeling sorry for myself) and just give my best to manage and be more organized and learn to prioritize as well. In fact, I found it was a rather great opportunity to be able to work closely with people i don't get to liaise with previously and thus gain new insights and new skills/knowledge as well. If only I stop complaining and smell the roses to experience the abundance of gift God wishes i could learn from this situation.
  • I complained and feel imbalance when I seems to have more housework or even financial loads at home while "everybody" else can chill out. But I've learnt the people who can contribute more is because they are blessed with more than others, thus they have the capacity to give more to others. And this is a gift from the Creator as well. So cherish it and give your best out.
  • I complained when I see injustice, cruel things or even inconsiderate drivers on the road (this must have been a daily routine!). All the news on radio, on the net, the drivers on the road can easily frustrates me. But, what can i and what should i do about it as contrast to just complaining? I only add on to the disharmony by having such negative qi. Thus, from now on, I  hope i would instead first have harmony deep within me, and then have harmonious heart to the things, event and people around me and to care for others and on the things around me. I felt this would be a better way to resolve all the negativity that's happening around me rather than simply doing nothing but complaining.
  • I complained when all the time I am being given to difficult/urgent task that i have to complete it anyhow, by pressing the pedal to full speed, by spending late nights, etc.
This is my first reflection and aspiration i have made....to STOP COMPLAINING! And how do i go about doing it persistently...I found the antidote is by practicing HUMILITY. As we only start complaining when we feel a sense of "better than others" deep within us (agree or able to accept this or not). Thus, i need to practice humility to be aware that I am this human who is capable to make mistakes as well or i am no better than the others when i start to complain and only complain.

Hope i will improve.

Cheers!

C.H.E.R.I.S.H

Hi folks!

Lately lotsa happening around me which is teaching me about the word Cherish.

Cherish,
The people around us, the affinity we have with them..for thy don't last long and will be gone soon before we make time to chat, to care and to get to know this person better

Cherish,
The "polishing" and tempering condition that were bestowed by the Universe to make you the better one. Learning to be grateful of the opportunity is part of the lessons to be learnt. As we passed the chance to learn this, complain about it, avoiding it, we would have miss the "boat" or chance to grow to be a better person.

Cherish,
The moment of "cuteness" and "sincere love" from our children while they are young. Do not waste such moment away by being angry or picking on their little faults. Shower them with love, companion and facilities them along rather than reprimand them.

Cherish,
The daily chance to repent and renew. Repent of the mistakes and let go of the past, to be able to start afresh everyday for new life lessons.

Cherish,
Your life, every moment, every minute to do something worthwhile and nothing is too small to be included as "worthwhile". Every little steps count to reach your ultimate goal and to make that eventual big steps!

Want to be a better parent? Start from now and the "little" small matters. Greet our child with an abundance of joy every morning. Make time to recollect your thoughts and heart to live a great new day. Do not rush your life away. Notice the lessons, affinity and "gifts" sent to your way.

Cherish them!

Learning from children and others

Hi folks!

I love my weekends off with my kids. Even though i might be more tiring(with house-cleaning and "entertaining" the kids), it was an exploratory moments with them. It's something i can't do on usual work days.

I alsl find kids are our Great teachers..they marvelled and feel happy at smallest thing. Compared to us (the more complex and "polluted" ones), we have so much to learn from them!

One day i was doing a peekaboo with my youngest boy and he immediately break into smiles. Such carefree and spontaneous potrayal of joy!

I imagined at that moment, what is the response i will get from my older kids and DH if i do the same act(peekaboo), the older kids might stare at me blankly(*duh*)...and DH might outhus palm over my forehead and ask me,"Are you ok?"

This also reminds me of a test runs in a FB group whereby wives experimented by texting  "I love you" thrice to their husbands to see what is their response.

Me and my two sisters also joined ran the test on our hubby and the test results were so ironically funny and we had Great laugh and good lessons from it too :)

My results after my First text message, "I love you" comes back with a "I love you too" from DH, followed with silence for the two subsequent i love you message sent.

Our sense of love and humour seems to be greatly diminished as we had more responsibilities on our shoulders.

In olden days while we are still dating, he will go i love you "two", i love you "three"..lolx

There are more funny results from others. My sis whose hubby in IT line returns a message after three "I love you" message sent with "What happened to your phone? Got virus??!! 😂

Another hubby asked," Is it your birthday today?"
Another said," You got things to buy is it?"

Hahaha...this truly reflect the "image" we left on our hubby ya!

Have a good laugh and good lessons too! As what my bachelor brother said after reading his 3 sisters crazy test stated," The key is say it often and daily so that it won't be so "suspiciously" weird to receive such messages out of blue!"

True also ..advice from unmarried guy hehe..

So what are you waiting for folks? Express your love to your loved ones and make it your natural daily ritual!

Cheers!
