Bed-wetting helpers
Hi folks remember the multi-purpose deodorizer I written my blog post the other day. Recently I suddenly recalled it and used it on my mattress after another “accident” (bed-wetting) by KY instead of using frebreeze as the latter the smell is kind of too strong for me..
And guess what I found, not only it helps to reduce the yellowish stain, the slightly smelly odour plus it helps to suck up the wetness being powder form it is compared to liquid form(I mean frebreeze). Perfect!!
Wow..I think I should get a few more of this and try experiment it with other purpose....since it is non-toxic and is not too costly plus it's to support single and physically-challenged moms.
Hopefully KY picks up soon (night time toilet training) and I won’t be using the whole bottle for this purpose alone..I am sure you can KY! Gambatei!
Cheers for the day!

Language development update
Recently I find my two kids language development amazing….
And something I find it useful is STIMULATION. It is a proven act I did unknowingly (not on purpose) makes both of them (BOTH) pick up the same word- “STAR” before one year old.
What kind of stimulation I meant? While both of them is still a newborn, I am fond of having a minor wall décor, i.e. sticking those luminous plastic sticker-like stars and galaxy (erm forgot the brand or the actual term but I am sure many of you get what I meant..if you do not know…pls. leave your comment as I can’t find any pictures of it yet :P my apology). So each time I turned off the lights, I would bring them near the wall and tell them that object is STAR….and very fast they will repeat back to you …”STAR…..”
In fact, “STAR” is the first word for KY instead of nen-nen, or mam-mam.
So, allow me to jot down the language development for my two kids for their future reading haha..(if my blog still exist then..and I guess that’s what online journal for isn’t it?)
| | KY | Shone |
| First Word milestone | @ 4-5 months’ old - Star | @ 4-5 months’ old – “che che” as in sister |
| Current milestone | @ 2 yrs, 10 months Can speak in clear full sentence..picking up language real FAST! Lately, hear her scolding people, “STUPID”, sigh…picking up the good and bad from audios “stimulation” around her | @ 11 months - che che (sister) - ta ta (beat) - star - nen-nen - mam-mam - bao bao (carry me) - bao bao(lower tone- bread) |
| Special | Her first song sang at one year old is “Negaraku”. I even recorded in video when she sang it once..haha | Likes to sing along and follow my gestures on the song- Incy Wincy Spider |

Does your Men/DH cooks?
Even though most big chef are men(you may disagree with me), but most of the household cooks are mainly women.
How many of you has a male cook at home? Personally, I have a friend whose father is not only a good cook but he renovated his kitchen to be like those hotel kitchen whereby he can cook over big fire…haha I think you guys know what I meant….compared to our conventional gas stove that most household own. And he is so into cooking that he even engage chef to teach him how to cook those special dishes. (wow….)
Another notable real-life example around me would be my bil who even during his courting days with my sister, he often cook dishes like nasi lemak, curry etc (he’s from Malacca so most of his dishes are spicy ones..:P ) and is really as yummy as what you can find at those hawker stalls or eateries.
Even though my DH hardly cooks, but he is very good at it (theoretically). At one mouthful or one sip or one look, he can tells me what seasoning, ingredients or cooking method is missing(like over-cooked or steps not in right sequence)…which sometimes makes me “FIRE” yet I am very thankful for his comment as I am a better cook now(well..if he hears this I think there’s a long road to go…still lotsa improvement to be made).
Lately while we trying to bring lunch from home and cook simple dishes for dinner due to the fact that by the time we got home, it was rather late and elaborate dinner would mean very very late dinner. DH has offered several times to help me with the dinner preparation (which mostly consist of noodle soup or “kon lou”-dried noodles with soup as side dishes). And it is real yummy even without or with little other ingredients. Even if he cook only empty kon lou noodle(yep with nothing at all…) it taste SO GOOD! Though, I would often offer to prepare vegetables and other side dishes to make it a more wholesome meal.
And, few days back, while I was preparing to fried vermicelli for our lunch, my son suddenly poo poo, thus I asked DH whether he could help to change the diaper and wash Shone’s bottom, yet he took up the challenge and offered to fried the vermicelli instead..haha...why I said challenge? ‘Cos besides kon lou noodle, burger, rojak, instant noodle (yup that’s all I think), I have yet to taste the vermicelli cooked by him!
And the result…voila…it is YUMMY allrite!
Plus, the main point is I am happy to know that my DH don’t mind or willing to chip in with meal preparation now…

Baby C
I think in the world of bloggers mommies right now..everyone would be praying and following the news of BabyC and her tough mommy.
Same for me...each time I would look at my google reader for some
Hopefully she overcome this stage and moved on to healthy growing stage soon and her mom can feel relief..
Let's pray for Baby Cassandra...and her mom!
Cheers to all!
Memorable experience with family
My DH loves to eat and enjoy food…being a vegetarian since his teen (so do I), he is always scouting and visiting new and special vegetarian eateries that he becomes like a vegetarian eateries directory amongst his friends (included myself..).
I recalled during my convocation whereby my parents and siblings came to KL, I actually called him to asked where is the nearest vegetarian restaurant to where we are standing(at that moment) and voila he can tell you the exact location and the special dishes which is worth trying over there. That is how “passionate” he is in this area..haha..
And did I mentioned that during our courting days we travelled as far as Klang (more than 1 hr drive away) almost thrice a month for his favourite Roti John at one of the vegetarian outlet over there. Last year during New Year eve whereby most vege eateries are closed when we drove by, suddenly he said, “ I know which place is still open now(at 8.50pm)…which is the one in Klang…so off again we went (about 40-60 minutes drive from our new home)…haha…with KY(she is only one year old then) in tow.
And after our eating trip to Klang on New Year Eve, we were being treated with an unexpected fireworks display near the traffic light at Jusco Bukit Tinggi at Klang…wow…all cars stopped by the road side and even at the traffic light(it is GREEN allright!) to watch the fireworks display…haha..so do we….(but being pregnant at that time..I stayed in the car..as it was too loud and smoky…so DH brought KY along). Though KY was a bit alarmed at the sound but she enjoyed her favourite fireworks nonetheless. Fireworks been her favourite viewing ever since watching the famous fireworks competition display near Putrajaya last year from our home balcony and the many fireworks display during festive season at our home….
So that is one of the memorable experience for my whole family…do you remember any special occasion which you shared or experienced with your family?
Would be most delighted to hear from you all!
Cheers!

What special stuff you ate or always eat or plan to eat on your birthday?
Recently a friend of mine (who has the same birthday as I am and coincidently his dotter’s birthdate..yes birthdate here means even the year is the same as my dotter..how small can this world of coincidence be haha..try getting a table full of-means 10 pax the same birthdate all being your friends..wow…ONG- “lucky” man…)
Anyway just like to share this recipe he shared with me…Rock Sugar Noodles which is a traditional Teochew dish that is served for VIPs only. So taking this on your birthday (being a Teochew descendant I am) supposed to give me some ONG so to speak…haha…well at least this is what I would like to think it ..ha..ha…
So core ingredients would be:
- Egg
- Noodle
- Rock sugar
- Water
That’s all.
Steps:
Put some rock suger in water and boil it
Note: Noodle is to be cooked separately
So after put in the egg
Then we can have a bowl of rock sugar egg noodle and it will rock us up
Cheers to all! Wait till after I experiment with this recipe and update the outcome of it..haha….

Lil Caliph is having T.M.X Elmo & Friends Giveaways

Hi Folks,
Remember I blog about Lil Caliph Giveaway for the whole month of May?
Menu Planning Thought for the week

This week I bought some bitter gourd (because I have been a fan of it but hardly cook it at all for the past 3 years being a wife..hmm..why..well…unsure..but I have been eating it everywhere..bitter gourd noodle soup, bitter gourd dish in mixed rice…you name it!)
Is there any bitter gourd fans out there? How do you like your bitter gourd to be cooked?
I thought of frying it with egg, adding in noodle soup or even cooked it with salted beans or make it into soup.
Any other ways to cook up a yummy bitter gourd? Hmm…
Recently I stumble upon a nice site from Jamie Oliver and over at the site it has a steamed aubergine (some of us known it as “eggplant” or “terung” in Bahasa
I think cooking is an art really…and is a hobby to many…talking about this….I am tempted to try making my own pizza dough this weekend…crossed my finger and may I succeed on baking my first pizza for my DH birthday!
Cheers!

Exercise Regime
Previously a mom said to me ..oh my tummy…(pointing to bulging tummy) and said she hardly got time to exercise…
For me (who used to job 30mins daily if not thrice a week), honestly I have yet to return to my jogging regime..partly due to the fact that I have moved to a place whereby road running is not deem safe ..neither is there any safe jogging park at near vicinity.
But no excuses, I should be hitting the gym instead since the facility is there at my place…in fact KY been there more than I do when my dad is here taking care of her….she would run on the treadmill every morning at the speed of 4-5…woot…
So, perhaps it’ll be good that I bring her along so both of us get to sweat it out….while my DH take care the younger one and not two at the same time while I jog..yep..that is part of the reason why I don’t get to jog that regularly anymore…since erm I can’t really bring the stroller with two kids into the gym can I?
Hmm..enough said…I missed my jogging at the park or road out in the nature at better time…better secured environment and nicer weather…
What kinda exercise regime do you do as a mom/dad? Care to share?
I think exercise is still important despite the fact that breastfeeding helps me to back in shape pretty fast…by now I can wear those tight shirts and jeans.
So gym, here I come…

The coming of 30s…
Well..not yet …at least not this year…but coming June I will be seeing my last age starting with “2”(opps..am I revealing my age here? Well..it’s not a secret to me..at least not now..maybe when I hit the no. 3)
Last weekend when I was planning to celeb for my sil and hubby(both falls on May), I can’t help but contemplating about my life (it’s been my habit ever since in my teens to do such yearly assessment and reflection before my birthday each year), what have I done(rather than accomplished..too big a word for me.. :P )..and what would I hope to do (accomplish yes this time this word..does sounds suitable)….in 10 years time(during my thirties that is)
What have many people (around me) in their thirties?
- My two bosses set up their company
- My Microeconomics lecturer taking his final paper in ACCA
- My many friends being married and soon being pregnant becoming a mom (yep I am one of the few(I think) amongst my gang to got married and becoming mom before hitting 30’s
- So…what does Molly planning and wanting to achieve in her thirties? Still in thoughts…but will certainly put in down in black & white as concrete as it is..as I believe if we don’t plan our life…time can flies without clear objective..it might just flies with no concrete/meaningful adventures…and THAT is certainly not what I hoped for!
By the way, one friend of mine (who’s having the same birthdate as I do, even though older than me few years) have suggested I take a day off for ME time..well much that I would love such idea…BUT..hmm.. as working parents we might need to take EL or
And the friend shared with me a recipe that I should take on my birthday..Rock Sugar Egg(a traditional Teochew dish eaten during birthday which supposed to means that you are a VIP).supposingly can give me some pick-me-up…so stay tuned for my updates on this…at least this is one item that I will be doing on my birthday…something to give me some ONG(good luck)!
Cheers to All…do you all have anything to share about your birthdayssss? I am all EARS!

BabyIbu Giveaway: leanalittleshop.com

As mommies I bet we all loves buying or scouting toys for our kids…lately one of the blog owner – BabyIbu is having a giveaway for an online store- leanalittleshop.com which sells quality toys.
One of the items I love from leanalittleshop.com is My Good Manners Cloth Book (see picture below) which I planned to get for KY.

How to get DH to work together with me to educate kids?
Recent morning..I was as usual in a hurry ..trying to get ready my stuff, DH stuff and my kids….then suddenly I heard my DH reprimanding or hmm..gently commenting KY for wetting bed consecutively for two days…
My DH has been asking her to wear diapers, while babysitter and myself been trying our best to toilet train her.
So far, she’s been ok..it’s been months since she last had such wetting incident..I guess probably cos lately we been sleeping in air-cond room plus the weather been cold lately after a series of hot, humid weather of course…..
It’s rather sad or disheartening that my DH actually asked her to wear diapers again instead of finding ways to help her to get adjusted…(seriously..I really feel sad and not angry..) I know what his concern is the mattress getting soiled and wet(that morning he has been spraying GENEROUS amount of frebreeze on the mattress)!
Did I blog about the last time KY wrote on the wall..DH was so mad that he beaten her….and reprimanded me for letting her write and getting her stationeries ( I have wanted to let her enjoy the world of scribbling and writing..but to my dismay she drew on the wall when I was away at work and our caregiver(my dad) went to toilet)
So he banned KY from using pen, pencils, crayons (I bought her non-toxic crayolas…sniff sniff..missing now..wonder has DH threw them away after that wall writing incident..sad…)
As I am writing this, pls. do not misunderstand folks..I am not saying DH is a mean guy BUT I know he is very concerned about tidiness, cleanliness and not to mention preservation of our home, appliances and furniture…it’s not the first time he got upset when such incidents or accidents..and as always I always the so-called culprit…haih…
Maybe guys or daddys out there can give me some clue….what I can do make my intention a safe method..what I am trying to do is only/merely to exposed KY to the activities that she should/ likes to pick up at different stages of her age….
This morning I am at fault also when KY happily greeted me, “Mommy, good morning!”, and my first reply to her is not good morning but “ KY, u wetted
Honestly, I should have give her a hug and morning kiss first before starting to coach her….but cheer up mommy Molly…this lesson is well-learnt! I will be strong and hold to the way I would coach my kids..with love and adventures…not rigid rules….
Anyhow, I never expect a tidy and glossy home when we have kids..I just hope for a clean and safe house to crawl and adventure about....which is why my home has less glasses and my sofa is washable(get what I mean..btw I have washed my sofa cover four times this year itself...why? Well..accidents happened...when u less/half-expected it ;)
Cheers for the day!

Kids Birthday..

My son birthday will be coming next month (June 20), yep very close with mine…and my daughter’s birthday would be in July…
This year I hoped to bake them a birthday myself....thus I bought these candles and balloons at Tesco. I am looking at the simplest cake recipes I can find and thought of asking ideas from my more baking-savvy moms…
This is Kay Yee’s picture during her birthday last year (when I am still under confinement).
.jpg)
This year I hope to do something special for her..and invite her cousin and friends along..maybe a theme party? Anyway it’ll be special for her even with simplest party..she is just so happy blowing candles and balloons that I just let her put up a candle on an ordinary cake lately to cheer her up after she got upset being scolded by her dad for being mischievous…
My First Bento-like Sandwich for KY

Recently I bought two cookie cutter(see picture on the left) at Daiso ( a new Japanese RM5 value shop newly opened at IOI Mall - New Wing) as I thought of creating some more interesting meals for KY a.k.a Bento-like (inspired by some Bento moms like HealthFreak Mommies...and other nice looking packed meals ala Japanese Bento like recipes..). Check this article at Parenthots :)
And KY had fun helping me to create the bear-shaped sandwich for her packed meal(so-called..for her "school" though she has not started schooling..just pretend to go for school, or..actually the "babysitter's place").
Ta..dah..here's the results:
Not very impressive-looking but it's a good start (..hehe..encouraging myself)...stay tuned for more Bento-ing adventures...
Cheers!
