Energy and Nutritious Drink

Hey folks

I recently got a list of energy powder list from a friend who has been feeding her vegetarian kids with it...and they are growing strong and healthy.

I have got all the ingredients(in powder form) and been drinking them diligently for the past two days...seems very effective at keeping my energy level up despite two very late nights doing some additional work.

The items are(if i can recall all..else i got to get the list n post it up again later)
  • white sesame powder
  • black sesame powder
  • raw oats(powder form)
  • seaweed/kelp powder
  • soya lecithin
  • wheat germ
  • brewer yeast
  • brown sugar/fruit sugar
  • flaxseed (powder form)

Make it in lukewarm water. lDrink once a day.

I am letting my kids taking it now ;) Let's see how's their progress ;)

Note: The total amount I spent getting all the ingredients above is roughly bMYR60-70 (depends which organic shop I go to get the stuff. I estimate the items can last me(family of four) for one-two months depends how diligent we are taking it ;)

ATTENTION: Please although these are all organic and natural ingredients, but if you have any special health condition like allergy, please consult your physician before trying. I am sharing out of my own experience, it might not be the same for everyone. :)

For me I take more than once a day since I am still BF. See the picture is the stock I have in office :)

Cheers!

In conjunction to Blog Action Day today (October 15th) which focus on climate change (Check out more details on Blog Action Day here), I like to post up what are the action each individual (myself included) can do on Climate Change issue.

What WE can do Climate Change issue?
  1. Adopt Plant-based/ Vegetarian Diet (even if it's twice a week)
  2. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (Everyone should have heard of this 3Rs)
  3. Stop using Aerosol and other CFC products(No explanation required the its harmful effects)
  4. Go for Organic/ Natural Produce and Products (reduce carbon footprints)
  5. Promote and Support Environmental Campaign (via daily action, blogs, community work, etc)
  6. Invest in energy-saving products like light-bulbs, washing machines, refrigerator,vehicle/automobile, etc(it helps to save the environment and our wallets ;) )
  7. Turn off the lights and electricity when not in use (not just for an hour during Earth Day campaign)
  8. Use less disposables (diapers, utensils like fork, spoon, cups, containers) and bring own reusable containers for food packing
  9. Stop using plastic bags (Reusable bags are the trend now!)
  10. Car-pool, cycle, walk, buy groceries in bulk , reduce traffic congestion and carbon emission (simple steps which is good for the environment, out pockets and our health!)
Enough said, these are all very simple action EVERYONE can take towards contributing positive effect on Climate Change!

So,what are we waiting for? Let's Do It NOW!

Vegetarian Babysitter Wanted

Anyone knows any Vegetarian Babysitter in PJ/Kota Damansara area?? Not for me but for a new friend(Adeline)

Ever since I posted an Ad in ehomemakers.net before Shone was born, I have been receiving calls/e-mails
by babysitter provider/searcher(if there's such a word :P) providing/looking for babysitter services.

This time I got a call from a lady from Adeline and she's looking for a vegetarian babysitter in PJ/Damansara.

In fact this makes me thinking...why not anyone who knew anybody providing babysitting services(good one of course)
and who is capableof taking care of vegetarian children/babies (which includes cooking non-meat food I would think for
solid taking children), please drop me an e-mail or leave a note in the comment box on this entry.

I am thinking of compiling a list of good babysitters around Malaysia ...for all mommies' need. so if you are a
good babysitter or know anyone, please feel free to leave me your contact(or if you feel shy, e-mail me at alohamolly at gmail dot com)

Hear from you all folks!

KY and Isher

I attended my old classmate's wedding last Sat at Prince and Residence Hotel and she is so kind to arrange a Vegetarian table for us and a few other couples.

And I took the chance to snap this picture of the couple's son, Isher, who is a vegetarian from birth(in her mommy womb), same as KY. I am trying to get tips from her how to raise a healthy, strong and happy vege kid like she had..charming little 11 year "young" boy.. haha..he was ?? when I said how "old are you? which then I changed to how "young" are you..haha..

Hope to hear more good news from all my old buddies and from myself too...

Weddings..o..gatherings..have another one this coming Sat...Shone little birthday celeb with mil's side.

Yummy trip at MoonGarden

Last weekend, my dad came to help me out with my babysitter on leave...and DH suggested going out for dinner at ShiangHai VegetarianRestaurant at Sunway(one of our favourite which served sushi..yummy yummy), then I suddenly remembered a friend and another colleague of mine suggested this vegetarian restaurant at USJ called MoonGarden.

So, DH called our friend for the exact location while we off scouting for that restaurant....the restaurant is located at Taipan, USJ10  near Maybank and HLK electrical shop.

Looking at their menu and surrounding, we were immediately smitten by it...lovely food...I ordered my favourite spaghetti while hubby ordered his favourite mushroom soup+ pizza and my dad ordered the vegetarian prawn noodles(supposingly to be chef recommendation)...plus we added a mango juice for KY and a pumpkin bun for Shone.

It was really yummy food for all! DH suggested we visit again the next day for lunch when he saw some other set meal which he like to try..haha..so yep we went back again on Sun but for dinner as afternoon is too hot plus it was the kids' napping hour.

Three of us tried their 3 different set meal and it was really yummy as well...

We have not been eating out much lately but for last weekend it was a special one as it was DH birthday on Fri and I have not been able to bake him cake and pizza as planned since our oven was down.....so in return I said yes(which I don’t normally nod for two non-special occasion eating out trip..had to be prudent…with two kids, one car and one house to pay for every month..rite…so well since it was DH birthday, we’ll make it an exception…haha)

So folks if you are looking out for some nice vegetarian restaurant to spend time with your loved ones..you might like to give MoonGarden a try! ;) The price is like within RM10 for food plus drink depending what you are ordering...not too bad...plus you can then go shopping at Summit USJ(we went for Popular Warehouse sales after meal.. ;) managed to get some lovely items there at cheap bargain!)

Till our next yummy trip adventures..

Cheers!

Memorable experience with family

My DH loves to eat and enjoy food…being a vegetarian since his teen (so do I), he is always scouting and visiting new and special vegetarian eateries that he becomes like a vegetarian eateries directory amongst his friends (included myself..).

I recalled during my convocation whereby my parents and siblings came to KL, I actually called him to asked where is the nearest vegetarian restaurant to where we are standing(at that moment) and voila he can tell you the exact location and the special dishes which is worth trying over there. That is how “passionate” he is in this area..haha..

And did I mentioned that during our courting days we travelled as far as Klang (more than 1 hr drive away) almost thrice a month for his favourite Roti John at one of the vegetarian outlet over there. Last year during New Year eve whereby most vege eateries are closed when we drove by, suddenly he said, “ I know which place is still open now(at 8.50pm)…which is the one in Klang…so off again we went (about 40-60 minutes drive from our new home)…haha…with KY(she is only one year old then) in tow.

And after our eating trip to Klang on New Year Eve, we were being treated with an unexpected fireworks display near the traffic light at Jusco Bukit Tinggi at Klang…wow…all cars stopped by the road side and even at the traffic light(it is GREEN allright!) to watch the fireworks display…haha..so do we….(but being pregnant at that time..I stayed in the car..as it was too loud and smoky…so DH brought KY along). Though KY was a bit alarmed at the sound but she enjoyed her favourite fireworks nonetheless. Fireworks been her favourite viewing ever since watching the famous fireworks competition display near Putrajaya last year from our home balcony and the many fireworks display during festive season at our home….

So that is one of the memorable experience for my whole family…do you remember any special occasion which you shared or experienced with your family?

Would be most delighted to hear from you all!

Cheers!
