Ice Skating Adventure with KY

Sorry for the very blurred image..as DH was taking from outside the skating rink with one hand while the hand carrying Shone.

I brought KY along for Ice-skating adventure after winning some tickets for the Project Alpha.

But guess what, as mommy herself do not know how to skate, I am more like a mommy crab teaching the baby crab how to walk! And both of us fall at the entrance itself ...luckily we both dressed in our jeans!

I had to hold KY with one hand and the other hand holding on strongly on the side wall...had pains on my shoulder and back after that..signs of getting old....

And after going about 3 quarter around the ice-skating rink, KY wanted me to CARRY her!!! How can I when the floor is so slippery and I cannot even balance myself :P So I told her, "Only left a few steps and we'll reached the exit...mommy will hold you, let's go!".

And when I asked her whether she likes ice-skating? KY replied yes.

And when I asked her again whether she want to continue skating? KY said No!!! And added next time when she grows up she'll be able to skate as well as those big sisters she saw, wearing those lovely skating costume! lol...

By the way, the ice-skating rink at Sunway Pyramid is open to children age 3 and above, so KY barely reach the minimum age requirement...and I thought it would be a nice experience or good exposure for her ;) Plus, mommy herself has not tried ice-skating herself :P

Anyway, folks, if you are interested to go to Pyramid Ice-Skating Rink(best to go for couples :P hehe...*wink* get what I mean? Provided perhaps the guy can skate better than the girl...lol), check out their site here)!

What I did to wake KY up on her Second day at Nursery

Hi folks!

Today, I tried another method to wake her up after my first attempt failed miserably(by scooping and carrying her up to the washroom when she refused to my calls, "WAKE UP, time for school!!" and cried...she never really cry early in the morning unless she is not feeling well.

I switch on her favourite music CD, but this failed too(well, at least not until DH switch on the light), but it did managed to wake up the other guy in the room, i.e., Shone!!

So instead of KY waking up and brush her teeth, it was Shone who got up happily wakes up and brush his teeth haha...

KY woke up only when DH came in and switch on the lights(with KY screaming away! Dislike the lights on when she sleeps) and made fun of her that she don't have to go to school anymore!

Then only KY got up and brush her teeth! And normally by the time she sees her uniform nicely hanged, ready for her to wear, she stopped crying or fussing about!

Hmm..let's see when KY can actually wake up without much fuss!

KY First Day at Nursery

Hi folks,

Time really flies....My dear little KY finally enrolled into a nursery(at very last hour) after one whole year of nagging me and DH to bring her to school.

She is not even 4 yet, but very eager to go to school! Hope this spirit continues till she go University! Haha...

On the first day, she cried when I had to wake her at 7:15am as her nursery starts at 8am and we had to get her prepared, brush teeth, take breakfast, etc.

She refused to wake up and had to be carried by me to the washroom. I had to brush her teeth for her(normally she would happily do it herself, provided she is fully-awake, at this point of time, her eyes are still fully shut with tears falling as I quickly brush her teeth and wash her face).

After cleaning up, she finally stopped crying when she saw her uniform!! Yippee, I am going to school, she said! Oh well....

Then since she refused to drink her milk, I made her favourite drink, i.e. Milo(I normally don't let her drink that much 'cos she tend to get heaty and sorethroat). One now every day I heard the nursery gave her Milo(slap forehead!) and sweet(my Goodness...all the forbidden food that she likes!!!!). And I made her bear-like kaya bread (made with cookie cutter I bought at Daiso, you can check how it looked like here) for her to bring along to nursery.

I found that KY's habit very much like DH.

• Not an early-waker(she normally slept past 8am).
• A night sleeper(sometimes she can watch movie with her dad till late at night!!).
• Not an early breakfast person(much like DH)
• Loves drinking soft drink(I limit it to 100 Plus), eating ice creams and junk food(I limit it to non-fried rice crackers but her dad sometimes give her Cheezel...her favourite! Too salty for me!)

And, Shone is very much like me and what's my habits like? All the opposite of above! lol...As the saying goes..."Opposite attracts!"

Sunway Lagoon Wildlife Park

Thanks to Nuffnang and Sunway Lagoon that I have some lovely trip to Sunway Lagoon with my kids, DH and father end of last year after winning the second prize in Week Six for Project Alpha

My Cool Girl KY

Don't KY looked mature in this picture?

She's taking over the driver's seat while her dad went packing dinner.

Now my little KY is going to school today! Had to wake up very early...well at least considered earlier than usual for her as she would normally sleep past 8am, but now she had to wake up earlier to get prepared to start her nursery at 8am!!

Hope she will enjoy herself at the nursery!

KY going to nursery?!

Yes, I have enrolled KY to a nursery!!!

And these are some items I bought from Tesco Back-to-School promotion. Actually it was an impromptu purchase as it did not crossed into my mind that I should be getting these for her as she'll be starting her nursery soon!! And actually I quite like that lady-like looking white Pallas school shoes, it's very comfy and lady-like unlike those we wore last time, rite mommies :P. And it only cost RM18.90, which I think cheaper than the sport shoes I bought for KY last Chinese New Year??!!

Wow..I feel like I am stepping into another mommy zone....which consist of schooling children, homeworks, exams, etc...wow..wow..cannot imagine that! From baby-hood, toddlerhood and now it's a new adventure for me, catching up with current education and other extra-curricular activities(range from UCMAS, Kumon, etc, etc,...wow...but pray that I don't go into the extreme and neglect the most important fact that KY should have interest in those before committing to send her to one!!!!)

As much as I love to homeschool her but as I am still a FTWM(Full-time Working Mom), I cannot find sufficient time to coach her properly.

So best to enrol her to a nursery and she's been asking me to send her to school ever since last year!! Hopefully her desires to go to school persevere! :)

Study Group for KY

KY loving every minute of her study group(warming up to prep her to start nursery soon).

But she cannot sit still..after awhile..will disappear somewhere...lol...

note: This took place last Sat. Not sure if this is where and how she caught the HFM as
someone told me that one of the kid is suffering from mouth ulcers. Anyway i feel best to
keep sick child @home to prevent spreading d germs cos it is really painful both for the HFM
kids & parents too! So i got my dad over to mind the kids for another week to avoid spreading
HFM to other kids@ d bbsitter's place.

KY milestone at 3 years 2 months old

Hi folks,

It's been quite a LONNGGG time since I update milestone for KY. Cannot image my little baby has grown up so much!! Soon I guess we can share same clothing haha just like how I used to share my mom's shirts..haha..

My little girl has been such a great helper and sister to her bro,Shone.

But mommy been neglecting and scolding her too much. Felt really bad.

She's been this sweet, curious and rebel at this age. This makes her dad

real angry at her sometimes. Though it is widely known that somehow dad

adores their daughter as some people believe daughter is the father's girlfriend in their past life. haha...

Though she's over the terrible two stage, but she can be quite a challenge and hard to handle sometimes especially when it comes to giving in to his bro sometimes.

I must say at this age, she is full of "whys" which is good. She is very curious and would open up(dismantle) toys, gadgets, whatever that falls into her hand.

Thus, I always warned DH not to let her got hold of any of hi expensive gadgets. Am trying to reduce the times she gets punished and reprimanded(unnecessarily). Actually sometimes I felt it is adults who is at fault for leaving things at their reach and not informing them enough what items shouldn't be taken or dismantle and why.

Ok now comes to KY's milestone:

1. Instead of fav. food i think it is fav titbits(KY is such a titbit junkie like DH!)

• Chocolates- Kinder Joy, Kinder Bueno
• 100 plus, yakult, vitagen, milo, isomil(her official milk powder after she weaned)
• Sweets, much to my dismay,I have NEVER offer her any until one day she was being given one by an older child and she WAS HOOKED from then on...which kids won't get hooked? Me(I am the odd one..I DON'T like sweets but I can't refuse ice-cream and chocolates), ranges from Hacks, Chup Chup to any kinds in fact!!

2. Loves to sing and dance

3. Favourite movies/TV program - Hi 5, Barney, The Legend of Bruce Lee, Korean movie showing surgeons and doctors, Hong Kong movie showing rescue officers with helicopters(sorry cannot recall the drama title), Nemo, Madagascar, The Simpsons, Our Wedding VCD(haha, her all time fav. and always asked where is she or why she's not in there, and why her bro. is not there too)

4. Loves to help me with cooking, doing laundry.

5. Clumsy when it comes to self-feeding, she often spilt her drinks 9 out of 10 times(much to her dad's dismay and reprimand)

Honestly, I seems to have neglected her other language development as I am often busy BF the younger bro. and drop-dead tired at night after work. Talking about this...when will I reach my WAHM dream?

Anyway , Life gotta Carpe Diem! From now on, I will arrange some activities to share with her every night so that her golden learning years does not go to waste!

Swimming adventures

Last two weekends, after Sunway Lagoon trip was cancelled, in the afternoon around 4.45pm, we brought my two kids go swimming at our apartment after their nap.

KY is so excited as it's been sometime since we last took her to swim! Her first swim was when she was 5 months old. Then now and then when the weather is fine and when we happened to be at home, we would bring them to swim.


She is so excited and wanted to learn to swim(without her swimming ring) after watching another jie jie swimming in the pool. She spent like close to an hour in the pool.


It was Shone first swim(at 1 year-old) and I scooped Shone up after like 20 mins in the pool splashing water and went up my unit to shower. After both of us took our shower( and blow my hair even) we went down to pick up the jie jie(DH is with her).


However, KY still refused to come up from the pool, then i brought Shone for a walk at the pool side and fish pond for like 10-15 mins, still...my girl refused to come out from the pool...DH said why not you go up and come down 30minutes later?


As it was rather hot, I wanted to go to the mini market to buy an ice-cream(my fav :P) but realised I forgot to bring any $. Then suddenly I thought why not I go up again to my unit, bring some $ down and buy me some ice-cream and try to TEMPT KY with it. Perhaps that would make her come out from the POOL!


So I went and practically shout and SHOW OFF my ice-cream at poolside :P ( I think I managed to TEMPT not only her but many kids at the kids pool :P..this mommy..must be losing her mind??)...anyway I didn't care...kept calling her..and LICK my ice-cream..Mango Tango(yep the new flavour from Walls..not bad..)


And finally..it works ;) she obediently leave the pool and came after me for ice-cream..hahah..


So folks, this is one of my tricks :P which succeeded.. it works !

Touching Conversation with my two year plus KY

Why 2 year plus when she has reached her 3 yr old milestone recently? Well because this touching conversation happened before her birthday :) Just that mommy has not shared it publicly in her blog.

Ever since my second child, Shone arrives, it has been rather hectic schedule for me with two kids. There are many things that I used to do with KY even while I was heavily pregnant and tires easily. I never failed to read bedtime story with her every night.

However now my nighttime routine has changed to be BF Shone at night till BOTH of us sleep or at least Shone is asleep while I am closed to sleeping mode while waiting for KY to sleep as well...(Shone sleeps earlier than KY).

Most of the time I am SO TIRED that I am KNOCKED OUT almost immediately after BF Shone(well being a full-time mom) every evening that I am so ashamed and guilty that I seems to have neglected precious time with KY.

So one night while I was breastfeeding Shone on the bed with KY lying beside me(doing nothing), I said to KY, " Sorry ya mommy have not been reading bedtime story to you lately...." tears falling inside ..sad..

KY said cheerfully, " KY read myself mommy, KY reads everyday!"

Wow...I was stunned, touched at her spontaneous reply. Yes indeed most of the nights she would take out her books and read while I BF Shone. Sometimes she would asked me to read to her..but to my dismay I often told her mommy is too tired...can read it tomorrow...So bad of me...really...I FEEL SO BAD even while I am typing this now...

So, I have to find some ways, either changing SHone bedtime routine, or to boost up my energy level through better nutrition, rest and daily habits...I would not want to miss spending precious time with my kids (BOTH of them)...and witness & progress with both their development stage!
