Echoes of Our Words

Hi folks!

I have read a book entitled "Echoes from the Heart"….lately I have been pondering a lot on "Echoes from our Words…"
Our words can kill or heal as the sayings go….
And lately I do find our words really have echoes too.
Think the time when whenever we do something, someone's advice will ring behind our mind. I noticed this lately when I was buying KY's new school uniform.  Seemingly simple task, when I was choosing over the size to buy, one size is too large, the other is just nice. But viewing in long term the thrifty me would opt for the bigger size to last for one whole year. But DH's view drums into me, saying it would looks funny on her if too big. Thus I went ahead and get 3 just nice and 1 larger one.
Then, I start to think again, how my words will also drum into the kids when they do something. Thus, we must really choose our words well and think thrice before we speak to our children. Whether our words will help them to make a better choice in life or deter them from moving forward.
I felt it's really hard to control our words sometimes, especially we are so used to act from emotions, habits, etc. Thus it's really important to always fine-tune our heart and mind first thing in the morning. To sync our heart with love and compassion, so that everything that comes out from our thoughts and words filled with love and compassion and no harsh tone or words that might scar another soul.
Let us all take time to listen to the "Echoes of our Words" and ensure that the echoes filled with love and compassion.

Cheers!

Action Plan

Hi folks!

These are my action plan based on some of the things that connected with each of the improvement I like to make in my aspiration list.

Here are some and the list will keep expanding as journeyed through life.

1.       To speak kindly, act with love especially with my closed ones.

-          Always speak with love. Never out of anger. When I am angry or lack of patient, keep silent. Walk away. Do not hurt the innocent ones.

-          Give encouragement generously. Everyone needed a lift. Even to myself. Give a pat to myself for a job well-done. Acknowledge myself and others.

-          Apologise immediately. Do not keep any grudges or regrets in life. Not even a single day.

2.       To always communicate my real fear, concern and worries with DH.

-          Practice courage, clarity and love to speak frankly with DH.

-          Be truthful and be open and respectful.

3.       To do my Best and have faith in God that thing will work out. I just need to put in my 100% and leave the rest to Him.

-          Pray and talk to Him every morning, every fear/adventures and happiness, every ending of the day.

-          Give it a try before giving up. Use your true heart and seek guidance from above.

4.       To detach from hardship, unhappiness and retain more goodness, happy thoughts and be more joyful, live life fullest and to bring joy to others around me.

-          Laugh more with kids and DH. Enjoy the moment together. Have more happy memories together. Have fun and do "crazy" things together. Let your hair go for once.

-          Keep the list in heart and mind. See through the plans/real work with much gusto and cheerfulness.

5.       To give unconditionally, lovingly, happily and fully.

-          Though you dreaded the task, but sometimes a task being assigned to you for a reason. If you could do it, why not. Accomplish the task with a peaceful heart and learn along the way.

-          To cherish each moment of giving, give thanks when the tough gets going.

Hope I will remember all these principles, guidelines, whatever you name it….

In EVERYTHING I ASPIRE TO ACCOMPLISH FOR COMING YEAR….too many to list out…haha..but I might..cos I have really short-term memory :P

Cheers!

Aspiration and Confession

Hi folks!

Lately I find myself running short of not only energy, high-spirited self and also patience. Little things that kids do like being too loud at night (which kids do not or able to control their volume?), I could go real mad or actually more worried DH will punish them. But gee that isn't an excuse. There should be more better way to control or at least manage their "loudness" and "laughter". I feel REALLY BAD for scolding them for laughing too loud, playing in musical instrument and even sing at night. Simply because I lacked of patience and being overly-anxious as we are staying close vicinity with our neighbor.

So this really has a great influence on my aspiration for the year which I have been contemplating so far.

I wished to improve in the following areas:

1.       To speak kindly, act with love especially with my closed ones.

Transform how an unintended ugly situation to a loving one.

2.       To always communicate my real fear, concern and worries with DH.

To eradicate any miscommunication. Have courage, faith and trust that we love each other enough to be frank and be loving and understanding while communicating.

3.       To do my Best and have faith in God that things will work out. I just need to put in my 100% and leave the rest to Him.

To build my close relationship and strong faith in God. To work alongside him to create miracles and witness the transformation.

4.       To detach from hardship, unhappiness and retain more goodness, happy thoughts and be more joyful, live life fullest and to bring joy to others around me.

I felt I have becoming more worry-full than I should be instead of "smelling the roses". Thus, I am blessed with people like that around me, especially KY.

5.       To give unconditionally, lovingly, happily and fully.

To be able to give is a gift. Do not tarnish a well-intended giving with any negative energy. Give with love. Learn…learn…learn..

This is the overall guidelines..which has to match with some real habits nurturing and action plan which I hope to think it though and share it here J

Folks, will you join me to share your thoughts on this and share your aspiration too. Love to hear from you all!

Cheers and have a lovely and fruitful year ahead!

Have a Blessed Christmas to All!

Hi folks!

A prayer of peace, warm and happiness on this day of reunion..
May the world inside(our heart) & outside(external) filled with much love and gratitude!

Cheers! :)

Books I bought at BBW 2012

Hi folks!

This year, DH managed to find time to accompany me to BBW. We depart around 6.50pm from my mom's place and reached the carpark only about 7.30pm due to heavy traffic. Luckily there are still plenty of carpark at Basement parking. However, if going alone and late at night, it's more advisable to bring someone along.

Once we reached the hall, we marched straight to the Children section. We spent about an hour there and then announcement can be heard telling us the place will close at 9pm. Thus I told hubby time to queue at payment counter as I thought it would be long
Queue, however when we reached the counter there isn't any long queue, many people are still busy browsing for their "treasure". I was tempted to continue..can see DH still busy browsing too! ;) He spent more time and picked more books for the kids this time, much to my surprise! :) Guess with this firs experience to BBW, he would understand our craze for this event of the year that people actually took leave an spent whole day there! Yey, hopefully this means he will be willing to fetch me to BBW every year lol :)

Following the wedding dinner tradition where you wouldn't want to get stucked and jam at the final crowd when everyone is rushing home. Thus I depart without looking at other section but somehow feeling satisfied as I don't think with my big belly I can sustain any longer browsing..spent MYR110 an hour for 18 books ;) Not bad!

We bought 3 encyclopedia/atlas, one book on piano & Thomas & friend for SE, one book on ballet & Dora for KY(their favorites!), one set of 3 Disney stories book(came along wih stickers
& activity books), two wipe clean
Activity book from their favourite character(so can reuse many times hehe!) and one special sound book that comes with a counter which count the no. of times you shake ur butt when the music stops(this book was picked by DH, I must say he has great knack@hunting interesting books for the kids!)

That's all we bought, went home without jam and bought Rojak for supper ;)

Satisfied ..cheers :)

Unexpected "two"

Hi folks!

Unexpected 1: Less than a minute after we "painstakingly" spent 20mins. to assemble the Lego truck, my boy dismantle it soon after I finished taking picture. He then made himself airplane and other stuff..imaginative and full of creativity :)

Snacking- a food full of memories

Hi folks!

It is cherry season when I went to Oz. I have th chance to taste real sweet and lovely cherry. People eat it just like that without washing...

I saw cherry locally selling for MYR19.90 per box. I bought it for approx. AUD4-5for the same qty. Can't bear to buy it..then yesterday I saw it selling at Tesco@MYR9.90 per box..wow..immediately bought a box..it taste ok..but not as sweet as the one I tasted in Oz but enough to satisfy my quest for Oz fruits..yummy...

Lego Fun

Hi folks!

Have you seen the Lego toy sold at Shell for RM12.90 for each RM40 petrol pump there using Bonuslink card? I thought would like it thus took the chance to get one for him.
It I stated 6+, gee I thought I had to give to his sister instead...but he's the big fan of Lego...so this morning tried to piece the Lego truck together with him..not easy for me either lol..it took us sometime to piece the masterpiece together but it was fun!

Try get one yourself too if you are pumping petrol@Shell & is Bonuslink card user. They have 6 models..

I heart cookies

Hi folks!
Christmas always bring me images of cookies, champagne, etc.

During my last trip to Oz, I ate so much cookies as our host is an excellent baker!

Yesterday was walking and pondering which packet to get and alas settled for this one ...affordable and taste ok too, enough to satisfy my cookies indulgence ... Yummy.. Gulp down with a glass of warm soy milk! That's how I soothed my hunger daily in Oz.

Now this really brings back good memories.. Will work on my Photobook and share some pictures later if I don't feel like zzz

Have a grateful day! Yes the world hasn't end, and these are due to many prayers, effort and good act of many kind souls... Let's give our thanks rather than discounting and disbelief... Continue to cherish, live life with a grateful heart.. Do good & be good as we originally are!

Cheers!

Hakka Lui Cha

Hi folks!

Hands-up if you are a big fan of this special dish called Hakka luicha :)

I loved this dish and wil always ordered one at the restaurant whenever I see them on the menu. However, not all taste as good..some have rather charcoal black toasts groundnuts but some fares really well! The best loicha I ever ate stil belongs to a Pandan Jaya Vegetarian Restaurant called Xu Lai Xiang made by an elderly auntie whom I fondly known as Cai Jie..it's been a long time since I had it. Having witness the effort and the tedious process of making this yummy dish, which really makes your mouth muscle works really hard, I only have salutes and no complaints whenever I ordered one..

Even though my mil is Hakka though, she is not particularly fond or know how to make this dish despite she is a great cook allrite! I do wish to learn how to make this yummy and healthy dish wih lotsa mints, basil, and greens..yummy...

Snacking again

Hi folks! Lately I am famished every 1 hr+ so had to bring along wih me plenty of DIFFERENT snacks (albeit one got rejected a.k.a. Vomitted out, I still have the other to replace.

Here's one recent yogurt I bought from Tesco@$6.49 for 4 tubs which I think is quite reasonable as the other local are selling@$1.69 per tub and these are from Germany and taste really yummy too(just to try a different variety..plus I am fond of Germany btw if you heard of my story before...no intention or favoritism over local products which is good as well)! Will watch out for tis brand during my restock next round ;)

15 minutes Stir-fry Noodles

Hi folks! When I am running short of time, this is an all-time favourite that I'll cook for our lunch pack. I love adding lotsa vegetables in it. My boy asked for the noodles again the next day.

Very simple ingredients and steps.
Here I used Vits dried noodles.
While the noodles is being boiled in hot water, I chopped all the vegetables(you may add carrot, spinach, mushroom, etc to make up the 5-colors combination). Next, stir-fry all the ingredients and seasoning before adding the lightly cooked noodles and mixed well.
All done within 15 mins, hot n piping yummy noodles for one hungry family..yummy..

Successful ipad intervention

Hi folks!

Just thought of sharing this. One of the reason I loved to get books, especially activities and interesting pictorial books for my children is to get their eyes off electronic gadgets (e.g., ipad, iphone, etc).

As parents, I believe, we all do realise the pros and cons of exposing kids to all these electronic gadgets. Thus we tried to limit the usage or at least guide them to use it properly or for some, not to expose their kids to it at all.

Inevitably, having a gadget-DH means I do not have the option of not exposing the kids to these gadgets at young age.

However, what I do is, I would limit their usage per day. I go to the extend to set an alarm clock. Once the alarm rings(usually 20-30mins), lights off and they have to put away the i-gadgets.

Last night, after unpacking all the goodies (i.e. books) we got from the Big Bad Wolf Sales, for once, their night is filled with me reading and playing with them a games using the pictorial encyclopedia. So yey! For at least one night we managed to have a SUCCESSFUL ipad intervention! And they are looking forward to continue with page 2 tonight!

So yes, thank God it worked!

I shall keep trying to include all these little steps to avoid their eyes being glued to the electronic gadgets too frequently!

Care to share what are the measure you used to intervene the overuse of electronic gadgets by your children?

Cheers!

Busy Unpacking Goods from BBW

A Fabulous and Productive Weekend

Hi folks!

How was your weekend!

I have had a rather fabulous and productive one J Thank God for that.

What makes the weekend very happy….and grateful for me:

1.       Meeting up with like-minded people who are working on something which they are passionate about.

2.       Knowing I am not alone and there are always people out there who are willing to lend a hand.

3.       Knowing that I am not made of steel and that I too needed to learn to listen to my body and accept or ask for help whenever I need one.

4.       DH willingly brought me to the BBW (yey!!!) which really makes my days…

5.       Discovering something about DH which I never knew (he stayed longer at the BBW than I did and chose more great books for the kids that I do!). Why I said so, 'cos honestly I have not learnt this bookish part of DH besides as I always felt he's only fascinated and well-verse with gadgets stuff. Gungho for that!

6.       Knowing I just have to learn to ask for something which I need. And leave the rest to God/others. (Yea, I am one who are shy to ask for help or bother others)

7.       Gathering and sitting down listening to others which makes me know more about others. Previously I find I am always too busy to sit down and listen.

8.       Made the trip I have wanted/planned to/for.

9.       Bought KY to choose some small birthday gift to thank the babysitter and her daughter for their care and love for my children.

10.   Splurge on something for KY and then realize it doesn't worth that much. Learn from it together with KY and had learnt our lesson on budgeting.

What are the events happening over your weekend which you are grateful for?

Care to share?

Cheers!

Fertiliser of our Soul

Hi folks!

Our soul needs fertiliser, sunshine, water and soil.

What are the fertilisers of our soul?

Other's comments, demands and expectation on us can be like a natural fertiliser. It may not "smells" good but if we can absorb them positively, it can be very nourishing to our soul!

Have you got such fertiliser in your life? I have..

Cheers!

On food and eating habits of late..

Hi folks!

Lately, food has been a main focus of my day it seems. After finishing a meal, I would think of the next 2 hr snack and the next meal. Talking about hunger pangs that strikes me after every 2 hours. Failed to feed me on time..would mean another vomiting cycle that repeats after one after the other…so eating on time has been such IMPORTANT task of the day now…

Not to mention at times I really running out of ideas and mood on what to eat. No appetite basically. Sometimes would browse through some mouth-watering recipes pictures just to get my appetite back (hopefully…).

Being pregnant the third time is so much different from the first. The first one, DH would not mind to travel down to the south to get my hometown food for me! Second one, can't remember, mostly sharing packed rice with me whenever I don't feel like eating at all but still need to eat during the serious vomiting period. Third one..basically  trying to pack for me any food I find palatable and at times advise or remind me what food that cause me to vomit the other round.
Things I used to love like creamy carbonaro does not appeal to me anymore….thus DH has been my savior to finish up whichever dish I ordered which alas unable to swallow. Very grateful that he is able to patiently do this else I would be wasting food or even afraid of ordering anything cos it may just end up in the rubbish bin. How wasteful!

The thing to be grateful of is that at times.. I am able still able to cook up something for myself every now and then when I am feeling to it and especially when my son asked for it.

Am waiting eagerly yet patiently for the stable period to arrive. Right now, finger crossed, and stay thankful at each vomit-less day…

Cheers and sorry if this post makes you lose your appetite :P I didn't mean to. But to be able to enjoy food is such great blessings.
So please…enjoy your meal! :D

Vegetarian dishes@KL Hilton

Hi folks!

Last Sat was my company dinner and few of us from our company had ordered for vegetarian option.

Here's some of the food I had. Exquisitiely, delicately-served that all my colleagues worried that it won't be quite enough for me...I said it's French-style cuisine perhaps..however it taste rather ok..despite the size..thankful that it has something palatable for vegetarian like us ;)

You may be surprised, at times my non-vegetarian friends would asked to have my portion instead when they looked at how exquisitiely and tasty my food are ...compared to theirs hehe..

Joys from simple stuff

Hi folks!

These days, I would woke up like 3.4 or 5 am to search for food. And almost very instantly my boy somehow will wake up after me. So we spend time cooking and eating together at wee hours in the morning.

Here's SE, finding his joy playing pretend with what a seemingly sime stuff ...can you spot what it is?

It's a string used to tie those takeaway food in plastic. Yep, he kept himself entertained with it, using it to act in small little act and drama he devised complete with his voice-over. What an imaginative boy..

And it left me time to enjoy my meals and reading till zzz took over and I continue my sleep if I am lucky ..else at times it would continue till time to go for work...

Cheers!
